Abstract

Since the discovery of this site in 1986. new ichnites of mammals and birds were Iound, as follows: 1) an outstanding trackway composed of 35 footprints assigned to Neomegatherichnum pehuencoensis Aramayo and Manera de Bianco, 1987, (Xenarthra, Tardigrada); 2) an isolated footprint assigned to Glyptodon sp. (Xenarthra, Cingulata); 3) a new trackway of Megalamaichnum tulipensis Aramayo and Manera de Bianco, 1987, (Artiodactyla, Camelidae) which requires emendation of the diagnosis; 4) a trackway assigned to Rhea americana (Aves, Rheiformes); 5) isolaled ichnites considered to be of podicipediform birds (Aves, Podicipediformes). The M. A. S. dating method on organic matter gave a conventional radiocarbon age of 12.000 ± 110 years B.P. for the foot print-bearing sequence.
