Abstract

The Thematic Volume “Early-Middle Miocene Paleontology in the Río Santa Cruz, Southern Patagonia, Argentina. 130 years since Ameghino, 1887” deals with the geology, chronology and the fossils of the Santa Cruz Formation in the Río Santa Cruz recovered in recent expeditions (2013-14). It gathers 13 articles by 21 authors and highlights the need to integrate historical information in paleontological studies of the Cenozoic of Patagonia.
